The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) is a family of over 30 community nurseries across London that works with communities and parents to enrich and extend children’s learning, so that each child is the best they can be. 48% of the children attending its nurseries do so through subsidised places; LEYF spends over £500k annually supporting disadvantaged children. They facilitate social cohesion by bringing children from all backgrounds together and support family wellbeing through high-quality education that increases the child’s readiness for school and enables parents to return to work.
They raised £1.25m debt investment in May 2014. The investment came from institutional investors Big Issue Invest and Bridges Ventures. ClearlySo supported them to structure the debt deal, advised on negotiations, business plans and financial model, as well as introducing them to investors.
